Lucknow Woman Claims She Was Denied Flat For Being Muslim; Internet Rallies In Support | Watch

Lucknow resident Bushra Raza Ali Khan’s video has triggered a sharp debate on housing discrimination after she claimed she was denied a flat purely because she is Muslim. According to the account circulating on social media, the landlord initially agreed to rent the apartment but later backed out, citing vague reasons that Khan allege were a cover for communal bias. Since the clip went viral, many internet users have come out in support of her, calling the episode unconstitutional and unacceptable.  Lucknow, UP | DENIED A HOME FOR BEING MUSLIM.A woman, Bushra Raza Ali Khan, was denied a flat purely because she is Muslim. Several posts described the incident as “open Islamophobia” and said communal bias is often disguised as “owner’s choice”. One user wrote that it was yet another instance of a Muslim being denied housing in Lucknow, while another asked whether such acts should be seen as “apartheid” or “Islamophobia”. Some posts called the alleged refusal “blatant communal discrimination” and argued that such everyday exclusion reflects a deeper, dangerous acceptance of prejudice in society. The issue has since snowballed into a wider online debate around discrimination in housing and the way such incidents are framed on social media. While many users have rallied behind Khan and demanded accountability, others have focused on the need for verification and restraint before labelling the case.

MG Majestor Launching Soon: Fortuner’s Biggest New Rival?

The massive MG Majestor is finally set to launch soon, with its debut expected as early as February. The arrival of the Majestor does not signal the discontinuation of the MG Gloster, as the new SUV will be positioned above it in the brand’s lineup. The MG Majestor is a large three-row SUV and will be powered by the same diesel engine, featuring a twin-turbo setup paired with a standard 8-speed automatic gearbox. A 4x4 variant will also be available. The SUV sports a bold and aggressive front design with a broad stance, a large blacked-out grille and slim headlamps. Bigger, Bolder, MG’s New Flagship While it shares its platform with the Gloster, the Majestor looks distinctly different, especially at the front, while the rear features a connected lighting setup along with contrasting black elements. Inside, the SUV will offer a premium cabin with a large 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system, leather upholstery and features such as heated, cooled and massage seats. The Majestor will also offer a proper third row, ensuring ample space for rear passengers. The MG Majestor will be sold through standard MG dealerships and will serve as the brand’s flagship SUV alongside the Gloster. Its biggest rival is expected to be the Toyota Fortuner, although the Majestor is larger in size. Pricing will be a key factor in determining its market positioning. The Majestor is expected to be launched in the first half of February and will be JSW MG’s first launch of the year.

Early Diagnosis Saves Brain Function: Recognising Neurological Warning Signs In Time

(By Dr. Raveesh Sunkara) When it comes to brain health, delays can be costly. The brain is unlike other organs, it has very little tolerance for waiting. In day-to-day medical practice, doctors often see patients who dismissed early symptoms because they seemed vague, temporary, or easy to explain away. By the time they seek help, valuable time has already been lost. In neurological conditions, that time often decides how much recovery is possible. ALSO READ: Piles, Fissures, And Fistula: Common Problems People Suffer Silently With Common Symptoms That Could Point To Serious Brain Conditions Sudden Weakness Or Numbness:When weakness appears suddenly in the face, arm, or leg, especially on one side, it should never be taken lightly. Slurred speech, a drooping face, or trouble following simple conversation are not symptoms to sit on. These are often how a stroke announces itself. Getting medical help quickly can save brain tissue and limit long-term disability. Waiting, even for a few hours, can leave lasting problems with speech or movement. Persistent Or Unusual Headaches:Headaches are something most people live with, but not all headaches should be taken lightly. When the pain comes on suddenly, feels much stronger than usual, or is unlike what you have felt before, it needs medical attention. When head pain comes along with vomiting, blurred vision, confusion, or unusual drowsiness, it can point to bleeding, infection, or pressure building inside the brain. Brushing these signs aside often leads to worse outcomes. Seizures Or Sudden Loss Of Awareness:A first seizure at any age is not something to overlook. Some episodes are easy to miss, short staring spells, sudden pauses, or brief confusion. Picking this up early helps control seizures and lowers the risk of further injury to the brain. Changes In Speech, Vision, Or Balance:Trouble speaking clearly, double vision, or repeated falls are often brushed off as tiredness or age catching up. In practice, these signs can point to trouble in certain parts of the brain. Getting them checked early can stop things from worsening and improve the chances of recovery. Memory And Behaviour Changes:Memory loss, confusion, or noticeable personality changes are not always a normal part of ageing. When these changes begin to interfere with daily life, early neurological evaluation is important. Some causes are reversible if identified in time. Why Acting Early Makes A Difference Finding the problem early means treatment can start before the damage sets in. It also gives families time to plan care and rehabilitation in a more organised way. When diagnosis is delayed, chances for recovery are often lost. With brain-related symptoms, waiting rarely helps. Recognising warning signs early and seeking medical advice without delay can protect brain function and preserve quality of life. The Sedentary Trap: How Desk Jobs Are Silently Damaging Your Gut Health, Says Gastro Expert

{By: Dr Harshad Khairnar} Most of us spend a big part of our day sitting at our desks, in meetings, in front of screens, or even during our commute. It feels like a normal part of modern work life. But if you’ve ever ended your day feeling bloated, heavy, or just unusually tired, there’s a good chance your gut is trying to tell you something. Long hours of sitting don’t just tire your back or shoulders, they affect your digestion in ways we don’t notice immediately but definitely feel over time. ALSO READ: Sitting All Day? Mobility Training Is The Lifestyle Reset You Need In 2026 Why Your Gut Needs Movement More Than You Think (Image Source: ABPLIVE AI) Your gut is much more than a place where food gets broken down. It’s an active, intelligent system that influences your energy, mood, immunity, sleep, and even how clearly you think. But your gut also depends on movement. When you sit for hours without any break, the muscles that help digestion naturally slow down. This slows the entire digestive process, and food may stay longer in your system than it should. That’s when symptoms like bloating, gas, constipation, or a general feeling of discomfort appear. It’s not “just work stress” your digestive system is literally moving slower because your body isn’t. How Sitting Too Much Disrupts Your Gut Microbiome But there’s more happening beneath the surface. Your gut is home to a whole world of tiny, hardworking bacteria in your gut microbiome. These friendly microbes help break down food, absorb nutrients, protect your immune system, and even support mental well-being. When your routine is very sedentary, this delicate balance of bacteria can get disturbed. Some helpful bacteria reduce in number, while the ones that cause discomfort can grow more easily. This imbalance can make you feel heavier, more tired, and sometimes even affect your mood. That post-work sluggishness isn’t just “being tired” your gut might be asking for movement, hydration, and better rhythm. The good news? You don’t need to overhaul your entire lifestyle to feel better. You can support your gut by making a few small, gentle changes that are easy to follow even on the busiest days. Why Breaking Up Sitting Time Is Critical For Digestion Start by breaking up your sitting time. You don’t have to do anything intense. Simply standing up every 30 minutes, stretching your legs, walking to fill your water bottle, or taking a quick lap around the office can make a big difference. These tiny movements help wake up your digestive muscles and keep things flowing smoothly, not only that but these movements will  also refresh your mind, improve focus, and prevent that mid-day slump. Hydration And Smart Eating: The Gut’s Best Allies (Image Source: ABPLIVE AI) Staying hydrated is one of the easiest yet most important ways to support your gut. Sipping water throughout the day keeps digestion smooth and helps avoid bloating or constipation. It also helps if you eat lighter, smaller meals more often instead of having one or two heavy plates that can weigh your stomach down. Lighter meals are easier for your gut to process when you’re mostly sitting. Adding fibre-rich foods like fruits, nuts, salads, or whole grains can also keep your digestion happier and more regular. A healthier gut doesn’t come from big, dramatic changes. It actually starts with small everyday choices like standing up a little more, drinking water regularly, moving your body when you can, and paying attention to what your stomach is telling you. These tiny habits add up and help your gut find a healthier, more comfortable rhythm, even if you spend most of your day at a desk. Keeping Your Gut Happy In A Desk-Bound Life Your gut is constantly working along without you even realising every day, helping you stay energetic, balanced, and feeling your best. Giving it a little help doesn’t take much, just a few caring adjustments that fit naturally into your routine. With a bit more movement and mindfulness, you can reduce discomfort, feel lighter, and keep your gut happy, even in a desk-bound life. India's Best Selling Car Isn't an SUV! Guess Which Sedan Dominates

The best-selling car in India? It's a sedan and not an SUV, which shows how Maruti Suzuki has a tight grip on the pulse of the Indian car market despite our increasing fascination for SUVs. The Dzire has outsold every other car in India at more than 2.14 lakh units, which is more than the Hyundai Creta and the Tata Nexon. The Dzire in its new generation form has been a huge success with its new design, platform and the fuel efficiency that it brings with its new petrol engine. The new Dzire also gets a much more premium interior, including even a sunroof, plus better safety as well. Hence, the new Dzire has been a lone sedan in a market dominated by SUVs. Speaking of which, the Creta and Nexon follow closely. Both of which have done more than 2 lakh sales, and that is a remarkable number too. These two cars are not affordable hatchbacks but compact SUVs with premium features, especially the Creta, which is above Rs 10 lakh.  The demand for bigger SUVs shows the changing tastes of the Indian buyer, plus the most affordable car is not the best-selling car here, as even the Dzire is a relatively premium sub-compact sedan. Other notable mentions include the Maruti Suzuki Wagon R, Swift and the Ertiga, which have been consistently selling in huge numbers throughout the year. Hence, while SUVs dominate in terms of numbers in some cases, the best-selling car is still a sedan, and there are plenty of hatchbacks too, which shows that Maruti Suzuki still has the lion's share here.

‘This Is Not New York’: Viral Clip Comparing Bengaluru To New York Sparks Debate On Urban Infrastructure

A light-hearted Instagram video posted by a Maharashtra man comparing a Bengaluru IT park to New York has gone viral, sparking a wider conversation on urban infrastructure in Indian cities. The video was shared by Sagar Sonawane, who appears dressed in office formals, wearing an ID card, and walking along a well-planned footpath near his workplace. Escalators, Footpaths And Greenery Highlighted Speaking in Marathi, Sonawane opens the clip by welcoming viewers and jokingly claiming that he is in an IT park in New York. As the camera pans around, he points to an escalator and a foot overbridge, noting that pedestrians can cross the road using a proper escalator instead of navigating traffic.           View this post on Instagram                       A post shared by Sagar Sonawane (@xplorewithsagar) He also draws attention to the greenery in the area, highlighting the organised, pedestrian-friendly environment. ‘This Is Not New York’ Reveal Midway through the video, Sonawane delivers the punchline, clarifying that the location is not New York but an IT park in Bengaluru. Describing the area as highly developed, he then poses a pointed question, asking when similar infrastructure will be available in Pune. Online Reactions And Wider Debate The video crossed more than one lakh views and drew a range of reactions online. One user commented, “This is exactly what planned infrastructure looks like and why Bengaluru attracts so many professionals.” Another wrote, “Pune needs this kind of footpath and safe crossings urgently.” A third viewer added, “Greenery plus walkable roads make such a big difference to daily life.” Others broadened the discussion. “Every city deserves this level of development, not just IT hubs,” read one reaction, while another said, “It feels like a foreign city only because we are not used to seeing such facilities in India.”

Mustafizur Rahman To Re-Enter IPL? BCB President Answers

Amidst the deepening sporting and diplomatic rift between India and Bangladesh, Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has officially broken its silence regarding the forced release of star pacer Mustafizur Rahman from Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) for the upcoming IPL 2026 season. "Forced" Exit and BCB’s Response The controversy erupted after BCCI issued a direct mandate to KKR to terminate Mustafizur’s ₹9.20 crore contract, citing "recent regional developments" and safety concerns. This move left Mustafizur as the only Bangladeshi player in the league without a team. In an official response on January 9, 2026, BCB President Aminul Islam Bulbul categorically denied rumors that BCCI had offered a "reinstatement" deal to ease tensions. "There is no truth to reports of an IPL return. We have had no such discussions with BCCI," Bulbul stated, effectively ending any hopes of a compromise. Mustafizur’s Move to PSL Refusing to be sidelined by the IPL snub, Mustafizur has officially moved on. On January 7, the Pakistan Super League (PSL) confirmed that "The Fizz" has signed a contract for the upcoming PSL 11 season. The league welcomed him with the tagline: "Batters better shake carefully, it's going to Fizz in the #NewEra." Escalating Retaliation The "Mustafizur Row" has triggered a domino effect of retaliatory measures from the Bangladesh government and the BCB: IPL Broadcast Ban: The Bangladesh interim government has indefinitely banned the telecast of IPL 2026 within the country as a protest against the "humiliation" of their star player. World Cup Venue Standoff: The BCB has used Mustafizur’s release as leverage to argue that India is "unsafe" for Bangladeshi citizens, formally requesting the ICC to move their 2026 T20 World Cup matches from India to Sri Lanka. Domestic Defince: Sports Advisor Asif Nazrul has stated that the "days of subservience are over," signaling a long-term shift away from Indian sporting reliance. Internal BCB Friction While the official stance remains aggressive, sources within the BCB suggest the board is a "divided house." Some directors fear that pivoting entirely to PSL and boycotting Indian events will lead to financial ruin, given that a majority of the board's revenue is tied to ICC distributions which are heavily influenced by the Indian market.

RCB Wants To Move On From 'Painful Memories', Distance Itself From Chinnaswamy: Reports

Defending champions Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), as per reports, are set to move their home base away from the iconic M. Chinnaswamy Stadium for IPL 2026 season.  Reason for Departure The decision is a direct fallout of the tragic June 4, 2025 stampede that occurred during RCB’s title victory celebrations. The incident, which resulted in 11 fatalities and numerous injuries, led to a magisterial probe that ultimately labeled the stadium "unsafe for mass gatherings." While Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA) recently claimed to have received government clearance to host matches again, sources indicate that the RCB management remains unwilling to return. The franchise is reportedly keen to distance itself from the "painful memories" and negative publicity associated with the venue, choosing instead to start fresh at new locations. Handpicked New Venues RCB is moving toward a "neutral home" strategy for 2026, with two venues emerging as the primary frontrunners: Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh International Stadium (Raipur): Known for its massive capacity and modern facilities, Raipur is the top contender to host the majority of RCB’s home fixtures. Holkar Stadium (Indore): Famous for its small boundariesm - much like the Chinnaswamy - Indore is being considered as a secondary home that suits the team's aggressive batting DNA. Reports also suggest that Pune’s MCA Stadium was inspected, though Raipur and Indore currently lead the race. Impact on Virat Kohli & Fans The move marks the end of an era. The Chinnaswamy has been RCB’s fortress since the IPL's inception in 2008. For Virat Kohli, who shares a legendary bond with the Bengaluru crowd, playing "home" games in Raipur or Indore will be a significant emotional and tactical shift. Interestingly, Kohli was scheduled to play a Vijay Hazare Trophy match at the Chinnaswamy last month, but that too was moved at the eleventh hour, signaling the deep-seated hesitation to utilize the Bengaluru ground for high-profile events involving the superstar.
