ABP Live Doc Talk: Can Gallstones Lead To Gallbladder Cancer? Experts Explain The Hidden Risk

Gallstones are a common digestive condition, particularly among women and individuals over the age of 40. In most cases, gallstones remain harmless and may not cause noticeable symptoms. However, as oncologists, we advise that long-standing or untreated gallstone disease can, in rare cases, increase the risk of developing gallbladder cancer. While gallbladder cancer is relatively uncommon, it is often diagnosed at an advanced stage, making awareness and early monitoring essential. ALSO READ: ABP Live Doc Talk: Is Pulmonary Hypertension Genetic? Here's What Families Should Know How Gallstones Forms? Gallstones form when bile, a digestive fluid stored in the gallbladder, becomes imbalanced and hardens into stone-like deposits. These stones can cause repeated irritation and chronic inflammation of the gallbladder lining. Persistent inflammation over many years may lead to cellular changes in the gallbladder wall. This continuous irritation is considered one of the major risk factors linking gallstones to gallbladder cancer. Who Is At The risk? It is important to note that not everyone with gallstones will develop cancer. In fact, the vast majority of people with gallstones never experience malignant changes. However, the risk increases in individuals with large gallstones, long-standing gallstone disease, or a condition known as 'porcelain gallbladder,' where the gallbladder wall becomes calcified due to chronic inflammation. Family history, obesity, certain infections, and lifestyle factors may further elevate the risk. Symptoms That Can’t Be Ignored Symptoms of gallbladder cancer can be subtle and often resemble common gallstone symptoms. Persistent abdominal pain in the upper right side, unexplained weight loss, loss of appetite, jaundice (yellowing of the skin and eyes), nausea, and bloating should not be ignored. If gallstone symptoms suddenly worsen or become persistent, further evaluation is necessary to rule out complications. Diagnosis And Detection:  Diagnosis typically involves imaging tests such as ultrasound, CT scans, or MRI. In many cases, gallbladder cancer is incidentally detected after surgical removal of the gallbladder for gallstones. This is why individuals with recurrent gallstone attacks are often advised to consider timely surgical management rather than delaying treatment. Prevention and early intervention play a crucial role. Maintaining a healthy weight, following a balanced diet low in saturated fats, and seeking medical care for recurring gallbladder symptoms can reduce complications. For patients with high-risk features, doctors may recommend proactive surgical removal of the gallbladder to eliminate the source of chronic inflammation. He says, "Bhai ek smile hojaaye, dusra janam hogaya naa Anurag bhai (Brother smile please, you have got another life)." Another individual standing nearby is seen gently wiping tears from Dobhal’s face while he manages a brief smile. The moment, though short, has reassured many viewers that the content creator is conscious and recovering after the accident. The video has since gone viral, drawing widespread reactions from fans concerned about the YouTuber’s health. Crash Happened During Instagram Livestream The accident occurred while Dobhal was broadcasting live on Instagram to more than 80,000 viewers. The incident reportedly unfolded on the Delhi–Meerut Expressway near Ghaziabad. According to reports, the YouTuber was driving his Toyota Fortuner SUV at speeds estimated between 140 and 150 km/h when the vehicle crashed into a divider. During the livestream, Dobhal appeared emotionally distressed. He described the drive as his “final drive” and spoke in a way that suggested he was saying farewell before the crash. At one point, he also asked his mother for “love in the next birth”, remarks that later sparked serious questions about the circumstances surrounding the incident. Moments after addressing his followers, the vehicle collided with the divider while the livestream was still ongoing. Hospitalisation and Medical Condition Following the crash, Dobhal was initially rushed to a hospital in Meerut for immediate treatment. He was later transferred to another medical facility where doctors placed him under observation in the intensive care unit (ICU). His manager later confirmed that the YouTuber is receiving treatment for multiple injuries and fractures and remains under medical supervision. The viral hospital video now circulating online provides the first visual confirmation that Dobhal is awake and responsive, offering a small but significant update on his condition. Events Leading Up To The Incident Just days before the crash, Dobhal had uploaded a video on YouTube that he described as his “final video”. In it, he accused his parents and his brother Kalam Dobhal of “tortured” him over his intercaste marriage to his wife, Ritika. The allegations quickly gained attention online. Soon after, his brother Kalam responded publicly, claiming that the accusations presented only one side of the story. He also alleged that the situation was being used for views and social media attention, and claimed that Dobhal’s wife Ritika had left him because of his behaviour. Two days later, Dobhal appeared on Instagram Live again, criticising his brother for discussing family matters publicly. During that broadcast, the same livestream that later ended in the crash, the YouTuber appeared visibly emotional and distressed. While driving, he reportedly told viewers he felt completely alone and said, "Log hi nahi bache hai yaar jisko phone karu (I have no one left, whom to call?), let's go for a final ride." Celebrities Speak Out After Incident In the aftermath of the crash, several public figures spoke out against the online trolling Dobhal faced when he previously opened up about his struggles. Television personality Prince Narula and Elvish Yadav, comedian Munawar Faruqui, and actor Aly Goni criticised sections of social media for mocking the YouTuber when he spoke about his mental health and personal issues. Their reactions sparked wider conversations online about the pressure faced by digital creators and the impact of public scrutiny. Attention: This story contains references to suicide/self-harm. ABP Live Doc Talk: Is Pulmonary Hypertension Genetic? Here's What Families Should Know

Pulmonary hypertension is a serious condition that happens when the blood pressure in the arteries of the lungs is higher than normal. This problem puts extra stress on the heart over time, especially the right side. If it isn't treated right away, it can lead to heart failure. ALSO READ: ABP Live Doc Talk: Early Symptoms Of Bile Duct Cancer That Are Often Overlooked Understanding The Genetic Link Most cases of pulmonary hypertension are not directly inherited. Other medical conditions like heart disease, lung disease, blood clots or autoimmune disorders can cause them to happen. Heritable pulmonary arterial hypertension is a familial variant that can be transmitted across generations. Research shows that changes in certain genes are linked to hereditary forms of pulmonary arterial hypertension. Their kids might get this gene change if their parent has it. But having the gene doesn't mean that person will get the disease. Not everyone with the mutation gets sick, which is what this is called. Who Should Consider Genetic Testing? If someone in the family has pulmonary arterial hypertension and doctors don't know why, especially if the person is young, they may suggest genetic counseling and testing. Genetic testing can help find out if a gene has changed. Families can benefit in many ways from knowing if pulmonary hypertension runs in their family. It helps them talk to doctors in a smart way, understand their own risk, and notice small signs that they might not have noticed before. It also helps people make better long-term health plans, like whether or not to get pregnant and what kind of insurance to buy. What Symptoms Should Families Watch For? The first signs of pulmonary hypertension can be mild and are often ignored. Some of these are shortness of breath while doing things, tiredness, chest pain, dizziness and swelling in the legs. If there is a known family history, these signs should not be ignored. As the condition gets worse some people may also notice a fast heartbeat, fainting spells, lips or fingers that are blue, and trouble breathing even when they are resting. The Importance Of Early Detection Getting an early diagnosis makes a big difference. Today, medical advances have made it possible to slow the progression of disease and improve quality of life through effective treatments. Families should be able to talk to each other honestly, see their doctor regularly, and have their hearts and lungs checked. Not all instances of pulmonary hypertension are hereditary; however, certain types may be transmitted across generations. Families can do something about it by learning about the risks, getting the right medical advice, and considering genetic counseling. The first step to staying safe and getting better results over time is to be aware. Nissan Gravite India Review: The Car They Needed!

Nissan India till now only had the Magnite as its sole cash cow but in order to expand, you need more products and that's exactly what they are upto these days. Nissan will bring three new cars this year and it started with the Gravite, it's sub 4m MPV. It is the right kind of car which Nissan needs and they have priced it aggressively as well while undercutting even the Triber. The Gravite is something unique since here you get a sub 4m MPV that is priced lesser than base variants of hatchbacks even at Rs 5.6 lakh starting. However, let's look at the car beyond the price. Design Design wise, the Gravite looks different from the Triber which is crucial. The large lettering, new grille, DRL signature and the c-shaped elements plus the wheels are different which means the Gravite looks pleasing and does look distinctive to some extent. The rear styling is more or less the same though but the colours are different from the Triber. Interior, Space And Features Inside, the Gravite has a 5+2 seating configuration as the Triber while the third row is a surprise in terms of the space or even in terms of the access. While it is suitable for children mostly, adults can sit with decent headroom while the middle seat would need to be pushed forward. But, the Gravite third row betters larger three row cars. The second row is also spacious despite being under 4m with air vents also along with ample legroom while you can recline/slide it too. Storage is also well looked at with multiple glove boxes including a cooled one plus big door pockets. Upfront the dashboard does not feel made to a cost and the cabin feels airy. Features mix includes an 8-inch screen which is basic but works along with necessary features like cruise control, auto headlamps, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, 6 airbags, rear AC vents, rear camera and LED headlamps. The launch edition adds a JBL sound system plus an air purifier etc. Engine And Performance Powering the Gravite is the same 1.0 litre 3-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine which develops 72hp and 96Nm. Standard is a manual 5-speed while there is an AMT 5-speed automatic as well. The AMT is more efficient but the manual offers a better drive in the city where you at least can extract the maximum performance on offer. With 72bhp, performance isn't huge but it's a compact MPV while in the city, you won't feel it is underpowered. There is some 3 cylinder noise and in the highway you do need to downshift to get the best out of this engine but it feels quicker than what its power figures suggest. With the car full of luggage and passengers, the Gravite would have to work hard but it's decent enough as a city family car. Efficiency is also 13kmpl. Ride And Handling Another aspect is how robust the car is in tackling our roads and its suspension which is fairly composed. Despite its lightness, highway stability is also quite reassuring. For city speeds, the steering is light too and easy to park/drive. Verdict For the money, the Gravite is very good value in being less than 8 lakh for the top-end Tekna and under 9 lakh for the AMT. The AMT is for those who need convenience but the manual drives better while as a package for its sheer space, decent driving manners, the Gravite is indeed a bargain of sorts. A family car on a budget? This fits the bill. What we likelooks, value, toughness, space What we do notperformance when loaded with passengers, refinement

India doesn't need permission to buy Russian oil, say officials

India continues to source crude oil from Russia, asserting its right to procure from any supplier based on national interest, affordability, and availability. Government sources clarified that recent US waivers were for domestic audiences, as New Delhi's energy security is not solely dependent on single maritime routes like the Strait of Hormuz, with a significant portion of imports unaffected.
