Chaitra Navratri 2026 Begins During Kharmas: Are Weddings And New Purchases Allowed During This Period? Know Here

Chaitra Navratri will begin on March 19, 2026. The nine days of Chaitra Navratri are traditionally considered highly auspicious for performing sacred and celebratory rituals. However, this year the festival falls during Kharmas, a time when astrologers generally advise against conducting major auspicious activities. This has raised questions about whether rituals such as buying property or vehicles, housewarming ceremonies, or weddings should be performed during this period. On March 15, 2026, the Sun will enter Pisces, marking the start of Kharmas, which will continue until April 14, 2026. Meanwhile, Chaitra Navratri will be observed from March 19 to March 27. Why Auspicious Ceremonies Are Avoided As per traditional muhurat and astrological beliefs, favorable planetary positions are necessary to perform auspicious rituals. During this period, the Sun’s presence in Pisces is believed to affect the positive energy of Brihaspati, the ruling planet of Pisces. Brihaspati is considered the significator of marriage, knowledge, spirituality, and auspicious undertakings. Because of this planetary influence, many astrologers believe that important ceremonies may not yield the desired results during Kharmas. For this reason, rituals such as weddings, mundan ceremonies, housewarming rituals, starting a new business, or purchasing new property or vehicles are usually postponed during this time. What To Do During The Kharmas–Navratri Period Instead of material pursuits, Kharmas is considered an ideal time for spiritual practices. When it coincides with Navratri, the significance of spiritual activities is believed to increase further, as the nine nights of Navratri are considered especially powerful for devotion and prayer. Devotees are encouraged to focus on: Worship of Durga Charity and acts of service Chanting of sacred mantras and spiritual practices Recitation of the Durga Saptashati Many believe that prayers and devotion performed during these nine sacred nights bring quicker spiritual benefits and divine blessings. Renault Bridger Takes Aim At Tata Nexon With End 2027 With Hybrid And Electric Options

Renault has revealed its Bridger concept and it will be a new Renault sub 4m SUV that will be placed below the Duster.  It will compete with the likes of the Tata Nexon and would be made in India.  Renault Bridger Features It will be sub 4m in size and will be available in hybrid and electric plus petrol of course. It will be launched by the end of 2027 in India.  Renault claims to have the highest rear knee room at 200mm and also have a large boot of 400l.  The car would be launched in India first before other global markets and it is based on the Renault Group modular platform, or RGMP small.  The Bridger looks tough and boxy while as a concept now, we can expect some of these details to eventually come to the production version.  It is compact but has square design details plus a spare wheel being placed at the back which gives a further 'tough look'.  The front has a large Renault written on the grille with LED headlamps which have an interesting pattern.  The concept has large 18inch wheels and a healthy ground clearance of 200mm.  With the highest boot space around and these looks, the Bridger will be a serious volume driver for Renault in India when it comes in at the end of 2027 which is some time away.  We expect a petrol version to be launched initially with a hybrid while an EV would come later.  It will also battle the upcoming Vision S from Mahindra which will also come in 2027.

IPL 2026 Schedule: BCCI Confirms Schedule Release For March 12; First 20 Days To Be Unveiled

IPL 2026 Schedule: The wait for the IPL 2026 schedule is finally ending. In a move that brings clarity to millions of fans, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has confirmed that the fixtures for the 19th edition will be unveiled on Thursday, March 12. While the initial expectation was for an announcement during the T20 World Cup final, the board opted for a slight delay to finalize logistical details. The upcoming season is officially set to commence on March 28. BCCI is set to release the first 20-day schedule following their announcement to release the schedule in two phases. The Staggered Release Strategy The BCCI is adopting a two-phase approach for the 2026 season. According to a statement by BCCI Secretary Devajit Saikia to news agency IANS, the announcement this Thursday will only cover the first 20 days of the competition. "We plan to announce IPL 2026 schedule by March 12. For now, we are going to announce the IPL 2026 schedule for the first 20 days," the secretary confirmed. According to some reports, this partial rollout allows the governing council to maintain flexibility as they monitor the ongoing conflict in West Asia that threatens logistics for overseas players and also the legislative assembly elections in Tamil Nadu, West Bengal, Assam, Kerala, and Puducherry. Navigating Complex Logistical Hurdles The M. Chinnaswamy Stadium is set to host the IPL 2026 opening match, a much-anticipated playoff, and the grand final. The IPL 2026 opening fixture marks an emotional return for the iconic ground, serving as the first competitive cricket match at the venue since the tragic Bengaluru stampede that resulted in 11 deaths and numerous injuries. According to earlier reports, the delay in releasing the tournament fixtures was caused by venue disagreements between franchises and state associations, alongside broader geopolitical tensions currently impacting West Asia. The 19th edition of the league is officially scheduled to kick off on March 28.
