The second season of the Delhi Premier League (DPL) is set to begin on August 2, 2025. Following the success of its inaugural season, the league has expanded both in format and in its reach, promising more action-packed cricket for fans across the capital.
Eight Teams, New Format
Delhi Premier League 2025 will feature eight men’s teams, divided into two groups. Group A includes Outer Delhi Warriors, Central Delhi Kings, New Delhi Tigers, and North Delhi Strikers. Group B comprises West Delhi Lions, East Delhi Riders, South Delhi Superstarz, and Purani Dilli 6.
Each team will play a double round-robin within its group and then play each of the teams from the other group once. This results in a total of 10 league-stage matches for every team.
The top four teams from the league stage will qualify for the playoffs, which will follow a three-match knockout format — Qualifier 1, Eliminator, Qualifier 2 — leading up to the grand final.
Debut Season for Women’s DPL
The league is also making history this year by introducing the women’s edition of the Delhi Premier League. This competition will take place from August 17 to August 24. Four women’s teams will compete in a round-robin format, with the top two sides advancing to the final.
Playoff and Final Schedule
The men's DPL playoffs will begin on August 28 with Qualifier 1, followed by the Eliminator and Qualifier 2 on August 29 and 30, respectively. The final will be held on August 31, with September 1 kept as a reserve day.
