Tata Harrier Petrol Prices Out: Should You Buy Or Avoid

Along with the Safari, the Harrier also gets the 170bhp 1.5l turbo petrol and that makes the Harrier now a stronger proposition. Prices are now out and it starts at Rs 12.8 lakh while top-end versions retail at Rs 23.2 lakh and Rs 24.6 lakh for the Red Dark versions.. As in the Safari, the turbo petrol is smooth and gives it enough power which means it now is a stronger contender. The looks and the tough suspension remains a strong point as well. The new engine is smoother and more silent than the diesel while as in Safari, efficiency isn't bad as well. With the petrol, the Harrier now can occupy a larger segment.  Plus, with Tata adding more features and the new interior, the cabin feels more premium too. Like the Safari, some ergonomic issues remain which isn't there on the Sierra but the Harrier has more power than the Sierra while being larger as well. Hence to counter the more weight of the Harrier, there is more power from the 1.5l turbo which is the most likeable petrol engine yet from Tata Motors. The Harrier petrol over the diesel makes sense for the smoother performance, being silent and quicker. Yes the diesel is more efficient and has more range but the petrol is the one engine to get the more smoother powertrain. Being lighter than the diesel Harrier also makes this the ideal choice being quicker plus which should make this a more nimble car. Hence for better performance, toughness and go anywhere ability the Harrier petrol is a good choice while it won't be as efficient as the diesel though.

Amid MeitY Row, Elon Musk's Grok Draws Flak For 'Digitally Stripping' Brit Holocaust Survivor Descendant

A British public affairs executive has accused Elon Musk’s AI chatbot Grok of being used to create sexually explicit images of her without consent, reigniting global concerns over how generative artificial intelligence is being misused to harass and humiliate women online. The case, reported by The Times, has prompted renewed calls for stricter regulation of AI tools embedded within social media platforms. Bella Wallersteiner, who comes from a family that survived the Holocaust, said she was targeted by online users who manipulated Grok, the AI assistant integrated into X, to generate explicit and degrading images featuring her likeness. She described the experience as deeply distressing and has urged the UK government to step in with stronger safeguards to curb such abuses. Targeted Through AI After Charity Run Wallersteiner said the abuse began after she shared a photograph taken during a 100 km charity run in support of The Survivor’s Trust, an organisation that helps victims of sexual violence. Following her post, other users allegedly prompted Grok to digitally alter her appearance, removing her clothing and placing her in sexually suggestive situations. Among the most disturbing images, according to reports, were those that positioned her in a bikini outside Auschwitz, the former Nazi extermination camp. The imagery, she said, was not only sexually humiliating but also deeply offensive given her family history. Technology Secretary Liz Kendall reacted strongly, calling the images generated by Grok “absolutely appalling” and stating that Elon Musk must address how his platform is being used. While the government has not yet announced a full break from X, Kendall’s remarks indicate rising political concern around AI-facilitated abuse. Wallersteiner welcomed the prospect of regulatory action, warning that the unchecked use of such technology could normalise exploitation. “The creation of undressed or sexualised images without consent is degrading, abusive and it is not a victimless crime. It leaves you feeling exposed, powerless, and unsafe, and the harm does not simply disappear once the images are removed,” she was quoted as saying. Ofcom Action Sought as Fears of Normalised Digital Abuse Grow Calling for tighter enforcement, she also said: “Ofcom’s intervention is both necessary and long overdue. Robust, enforceable safeguards must now be put in place to prevent this kind of abuse from happening again. “Without decisive action, there is a real risk that this technology will normalise sexual exploitation and digital abuse, shaping an online world in which girls and women are expected to tolerate harm as the price of participation.” Her case has added to growing scrutiny of Grok’s image-generation features. Reports suggest that since the tool was rolled out, users have been able to produce a range of extremist and explicit content, including Nazi-themed imagery, violent scenes and sexualised portrayals involving hate symbols. Children, Women and the Expanding Scope of Harm Another woman, Jessaline Caine, 25, also described being targeted after raising concerns about the technology. She said that when she criticised Grok publicly, users responded by instructing the AI to generate sexualised images of her. “That’s where I started to get a lot of abuse,” she said. “A lot of people disagreed with me, they thought AI should not be limited whatsoever. When I responded back to an argument, someone said: ‘Hey Grok, put her in a string bikini.’ “It was totally dehumanising because I’d given them an argument back and they didn’t even say anything, they just put me in a bikini to humiliate me.” Caine also said she tested the chatbot by using images of herself as a teenager and as a child, claiming that Grok complied with requests to generate inappropriate images even when her age was mentioned. Governments Step In as Pressure Mounts on X and xAI The controversy has triggered action beyond the UK. Authorities in India, France, Britain and Malaysia have opened probes into Grok and its developer, xAI. India’s Ministry of Electronics and IT has already issued a notice to X, directing it to remove unlawful and obscene content generated by Grok and warning of legal consequences. The European Commission has also confirmed that it is examining complaints related to the tool. X, responding through its Safety account, said it removes illegal material and permanently suspends accounts that violate its rules, adding that users prompting Grok to create unlawful content face the same penalties as those uploading such material. As cases of AI-assisted harassment continue to surface, campaigners warn that without stronger oversight, generative tools risk becoming a new frontline for digital abuse rather than a force for innovation.

Play T20 World Cup In India Or Risk Forfeit: ICC Rejects BCB’s Venue Shift Plea - Report

This past Sunday, January 4, 2026, the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) requested the International Cricket Council (ICC) to have its upcoming T20 World Cup 2026 matches shifted outside of India.  This came after the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) asked the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) to remove Bangladeshi fast bowler Mustafizur Rahman from their squad. However, according to a report by ESPNCricinfo, the ICC has rejected BCB's plea to shift their World Cup games outside of India, and failing to comply would risk forfeiting points. Where Are Bangladesh's T20 World Cup Matches Bangladesh's cricket team is scheduled to play a total of four T20 World Cup 2026 Group Stage matches in India at the moment. The first three, against West Indies, Italy and England are at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata, and their final Group Stage fixture, against Nepal, is to be played in Mumbai at the Wankhede Stadium. Provided Bangladesh qualify for the next stage, they could have to play even more matches in India. The country has never won a World Cup, and risking points even before their campaign starts could be detrimental to their hopes for a title challenge. Having said that, it is worth noting that nothing as such has been stated officially by either the ICC or the BCB. Nevertheless, with the tournament set to start in a month's time, clarity on the matter is expected to arrive in the near future. Mustafizur Goes To Pakistan After IPL Exit Following his removal from KKR in the IPL, Mustafizur Rahman has moved to the Pakistan Super League (PSL). The move was announced by PSL itself on their official X handle late on Tuesday evening. That being said, it hasn't been revealed exactly which franchise the fast bowler would be representing.  Also Check: Sachin Tendulkar’s Masterclass That Overshadowed Steve Waugh’s Final Test

Most Affordable Mahindra Electric Launched-XUV 3X0 EV!

Mahindra has launched the electric version of the XUV 3XO and the XUV 3XO EV is the most affordable electric car from Mahindra. Launched at Rs 13.89 lakh, the XUV 3XO EV is available with two variants. Also unlike the other EVs which are based on the Inglo born electric architecture, the XUV 3XO EV is based on the combustion engined version. Not much styling too has been changed and it retains the familiar lines except for some EV like touches. The range though seems a bit less at 285km per full charge real world. Some of the design changes include new gold inserts for the grille, new 17 inch alloy wheels, EV charging port on the left and EV badge. There are some red inserts on the outside too. Features include level 2 ADAS, panoramic sunroof, 360 degree camera, seven speaker audio system with Dolby Atmos, front parking assist and more. The battery pack is a 39.4 kWh battery pack with a single motor while it has 147 bhp and 310Nm. A 7.2kw charger is optional too. Deliveries will begin from 23 February. This EV will be competing with the likes of the Tata Nexon EV and the MG Windsor while the range seems to be lower. It of course does not come with the futuristic interiors as seen with the Mahindra BE6 nor the range being not based on the born electric platform. However, this is an entry level EV which will replace the XIV400 in the range being more affordable

EVs, CNG Gain Ground As India’s Auto Retail Market Expands In 2025

Retail sales of vehicles across categories in India in 2025 grew by 7.71 per cent at 2,81,61,228 units as compared to 2,61,45,445 in 2024, with GST 2.0 helping overcome a subdued start to the year, Federation of Automobile Dealers Associations said on Tuesday. Passenger vehicle (PV) retail sales stood at 44,75,309 units in 2025 as against 40,79,532 units in 2024, a growth of 9.7 per cent, Federation of Automobile Dealers Associations (FADA) said in a statement. Similarly, two-wheeler (2W) sales also grew by 7.24 per cent at 2,02,95,650 units last year as compared to 1,89,24,815 units in 2024. In 2025, three-wheeler retail sales were at 13,09,953 units as compared to 12,21,886 units in 2024, up 7.21 per cent. Commercial vehicles (CV) retail also witnessed a growth of 6.71 per cent at 10,09,654 units in 2025 as against 9,46,190 units in 2024. Commenting on the performance, FADA President CS Vigneshwar said 2025 was a tale of two halves -- January to August remained subdued despite supportive macro cues such as direct-tax relief in the Union Budget and RBI's cumulative rate easing through 2025. During this phase, customers stayed value-conscious and financier approvals remained selective in pockets, resulting in uneven conversions across markets. "The turning point came from September onwards, when the landmark GST 2.0 rate rationalisation, including meaningful reductions for mass segments like small cars, two-wheelers (up to 350cc), three-wheelers and key commercial categories, improved affordability and lifted sentiment, leading to a clear upshift through September-December," Vigneshwar said. He further said 2025 also reinforced the transition that is underway in terms of electrification with EV share moving up in 2W, PV, CV and remained dominant in 3W, while CNG strengthened its presence in PV and CV, signalling a more diversified mobility mix. "Overall, CY25 closes on a celebratory note, stronger demand visibility, healthier enquiry pipelines and a more confident consumer, as we step into 2026," Vigneshwar noted. On the outlook, FADA said over the next three months, the retail outlook remains decisively upbeat as its survey showed 74.91 per cent of dealers expecting growth. "Demand should stay supported by the post-GST 2.0 sentiment, a packed calendar of festivals and the marriage season, and typical financial-year-end buying," it added. The dealers' body further said rural tailwinds look constructive as official updates show rabi sowing is tracking ahead of last year, and IMD's forecast of a colder January is expected to be favourable for key winter crops– both of which can improve cash flows and confidence. On the macro side, the RBI's repo rate at 5.25 per cent provides incremental comfort on borrowing costs, while the market is also discussing a consumption-supportive, tax-relief oriented Union Budget, which, if delivered, can further lift discretionary demand. "Price revisions announcement by OEMs are likely to keep purchase urgency intact, even as discounts may normalise on select 'model year 2025' inventory," it said, adding overall sentiment is positive and improving, subject to timely supply, sharper finance turnaround time and disciplined channel inventory.  (This report has been published as part of the auto-generated syndicate wire feed. ABP Live Leaks Before Launch | Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra Could Launch On This Date, But What About The Price?

Samsung Galaxy S26 Leaks: Samsung’s Galaxy S26 series is slowly coming into focus, and the biggest change this year is timing. Unlike the Galaxy S25, which launched in January 2025, Samsung is expected to push its 2026 flagship release to late February, with sales starting in March. Along with major AI upgrades, leaks now point to a confirmed launch event date, possible release windows, and uncertainty around pricing.  There are also signs that Samsung may rethink its popular pre-order offers. Here’s everything we know so far, rewritten simply and clearly. Galaxy S26 Launch Date & Release Schedule As reported by Forbes, the Galaxy S26 series is expected to be revealed at a Galaxy Unpacked event on February 25, 2026. The event is said to take place in San Francisco, which fits Samsung’s recent habit of hosting Galaxy S launches in the Bay Area. This is the clearest launch timeline we’ve had so far for the 2026 flagship phones. While Samsung hasn’t confirmed the exact sale date, the phones are expected to go on sale in early March. Looking at Samsung’s past launches, the company usually opens sales 14 to 16 days after the Unpacked event. Based on that pattern, March 13 looks like the most likely release date. It also falls on a Friday, which is typically when Samsung releases its flagship phones worldwide. That said, Samsung could move faster this year. To avoid launching too late in the month, the company may choose March 6 instead. Both dates fit with the “early March” window mentioned in leaks. Either way, it’s clear that the Galaxy S26 launch is happening later than the Galaxy S25, marking a shift in Samsung’s usual schedule. Samsung Galaxy S26 Price & Pre-Order Plans Pricing for the Galaxy S26 series is still not fully locked in. A report from ET News suggests Samsung is considering a small price increase, mainly because memory prices have gone up. The increase being discussed is modest, but it could push the final prices higher across all models. However, another report claims Samsung will keep prices exactly the same as the Galaxy S25 series. If that happens, the Galaxy S26 would start at $799, the Plus model at $999, and the Ultra at $1,299, all based on 256GB storage. This would be the fourth year in a row without a price hike. To manage rising costs, Samsung may change its pre-order strategy instead. The company could drop the free storage upgrade offer, which has been a major selling point in recent years. At the same time, Samsung may raise prices on some A-series phones to balance things out, keeping its flagship pricing stable.

Growing concerns around the U.S. debt reaching a record $38.6 trillion are strengthening Bitcoin’s appeal as a long-term hedge. Institutional participation continues to support the move, with firms like Strategy adding over $116 million worth of BTC. At the same time, altcoins such as XRP and Solana are gaining attention amid rising ETF-led interest. While market setup remains bullish, upcoming macro data like the JOLTS survey and employment report will be key in shaping near-term momentum.” Nischal Shetty, Founder, WazirX, noted, “Over the last 24 hours, macro developments have reinforced crypto’s positioning as a liquidity-sensitive risk asset and strengthened its long-term monetary narrative. Rising concerns around AI-driven inflation linked to energy-intensive data centres and capital concentration suggest inflation may remain structurally sticky. This raises the risk that central banks delay or recalibrate expected rate cuts, tightening global liquidity. For crypto, this increases short-term volatility, as prices remain highly responsive to monetary expectations, while simultaneously reinforcing Bitcoin’s fixed supply thesis in contrast to reactive monetary systems.” CoinDCX Research Team noted, “The crypto market consolidation continues as Bitcoin remains accumulated within a tight range between $87,500 and $88,000. As a result, the altcoins within the top 10 are also trading below their respective resistance levels, thereby squeezing volatility to a large extent. However, the global market cap is slowly approaching the $3T mark after a rise of nearly 1.66% in the past 24 hours to reach $2.99T. The top gainers for the day are MYX Finance, Chiliz, Canton, and UNUS SED LEO, which surged by over 6% each. On the other hand, Midnight plunges by over 9.27%, followed by Lighter by 8% and Injective by 6.18%.” Subscribe And Follow ABP Live On Telegram: t.me/officialabplive Disclaimer: Crypto products and NFTs are unregulated and can be highly risky. NYT Connections Answers (January 6): Puzzle #939 Confused You? Check Hints, & Solution

NYT Connections Answers: The New York Times’ daily word game, Connections, is back with a fresh puzzle for Tuesday, January 6. As usual, players were given 16 words and asked to sort them into four hidden groups. It sounds easy, but the game is designed to trick your brain. Some words feel like they belong together, but one small detail can change everything.  Like Wordle, Connections resets every day and keeps players coming back with its mix of logic, patience, and clever wordplay. If today’s puzzle slowed you down, here’s a full and simple breakdown to help you understand it better. What Is Connections & How Do You Play? Connections is a daily word puzzle where you must find four groups of four words. Each group shares a common idea or theme. The challenge is that many words look like they could fit into more than one group, which can easily lead to mistakes. For example, “Hook,” “Nana,” “Peter,” and “Wendy” are all characters from Peter Pan. Another example is “Action,” “Ballpark,” “Go,” and “Stick,” which all come before the word “Figure.” In Connections, you are allowed only four wrong guesses. On the fourth mistake, the game ends and the answers are revealed. To help players understand difficulty, each group has a colour: Yellow (easiest) Green (easy) Blue (medium) Purple (hardest) The puzzle may look simple at first glance, but hidden tricks and wordplay make it a real brain workout. Hints & Full Solution To NYT Connections (January 6) Here are today’s official hints: Yellow: They’re living spaces. Green: They might describe a certain type of voice. Blue: As heard in a casino. Purple: Add something akin to “creature”. Extra hints: Every group except purple has a word starting with “F”. Each group has at least one four-letter word. One word from each group for extra help: Yellow: Digs Green: Rich Blue: Straight Purple: Party Today’s Connections groups: Yellow: Apartment Green: Sonorous Blue: Poker Hands, Familiarly Purple: ___ Animal Full Answer for Tuesday, January 6: Yellow (Apartment): Digs, Flat, Pad, Quarters Green (Sonorous): Clear, Deep, Full, Rich Blue (Poker Hands, Familiarly): Boat, Flush, Straight, Quads Purple (___ Animal): Balloon, Pack, Party, Stuffed This puzzle was a nice mix of simple and sneaky. The apartment group was easy once “digs” and “flat” stood out. The voice-related words made sense after spotting “rich” and “deep.”  The poker hands worked well if you’re familiar with card games, while the purple group needed creative thinking by adding the word “animal” to each term. A balanced and enjoyable puzzle overall.
