Sekyo Carepal Pro 4G Review: A Smartwatch For 10-Year-Olds, Reviewed By A 10-Year-Old

Sekyo Carepal Pro 4G Review: As a tech reviewer, my primary responsibility is to test out devices and then explain to you, our dear readers, how suitable it would be to sort out the many woes of your daily life. Of course, with years of dealing with one thingamajig after another, I have attuned myself to look at how any gadget can serve young adults and older users. However, once in a blue Moon, I do come across gadgets that are designed for a super-niche-yet-sizeable sect of customers. The Sekyo Carepal Pro 4G (priced at Rs 5,980) is a smartwatch that promotes itself as a care companion for children. And that makes sense. After all, unofficial data suggests that there are nearly 4.5 million below-teenage smartwatch users in India. These smartwatches not only allow parents to keep a track of their children's whereabouts, but also allow the kids to get in touch with parents via video calls and SOS alerts when things go awry.  Now, my mind is weathered with time, devoid of all those child-like wonderments that only a 10-year-old can feel. So, to do full justice, I decided to give this one to a colleague's tech-savvy 10-year-old daughter, Kavya Sharma (pictured below).  This is what she had to say about the Sekyo Carepal Pro 4G (lightly edited for style and clarity). Hi everyone! I’m Kavya, and I am 10 years old. I recently got a chance to check out the Sekyo Carepal Pro 4G smatwatch, and I’ve been wearing it every single day! Since my mom and dad say I’m a bit too young for a real smartphone, this smartwatch perks me because it’s designed specially for kids, complete with full parental controls. Now that I’ve tested every single button, app, and feature on this watch, here is my honest review! ALSO READ: Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 First Review: Samsung Brings The Joy Back To Smartphones Sekyo Carepal Pro 4G Review: What I Love Calls and Catching Up The voice call feature on this watch is amazing! Whenever I finish my dance class or want to ask my dad to pick up snacks on his way home, I just tap his picture and call. The speaker and microphone are super clear, so we can hear each other perfectly without a hitch. Live Location & SOS Safety My mom’s favourite feature is definitely the live location tracking. It works extremely well! Whether I’m at school, at my best friend’s house, or at tuition, my parents can check their phone app and see exactly where I am. For me, the coolest and most comforting part is the SOS button. If I ever feel unsafe or get lost in a crowd, holding down the side button sends an instant emergency call and location alert to my parents. It gives me a huge sense of security! Fun Games & Water Park Durability When I’m waiting for the school bus or sitting around during break time, the built-in mini games are super fun to play. They keep me entertained without being too distracting. Also, we went to a water park last weekend, and I was nervous about taking my watch into the pool. But guess what? The water resistance worked like a charm! I splashed around, went down the water slides, and the watch didn't get damaged at all. ALSO READ: CMF Watch 3 Pro Review: Got The Right Muscles, Wish It Got The Right Tailor Too Sekyo Carepal Pro 4G Review: What Could Be Better Camera Quality Even though the watch supports video calling, the camera quality is honestly very poor. Photos and video calls look pretty blurry and pixelated, especially if the lighting isn't super bright. My face ends up looking like a retro pixel video game character! I really hope they upgrade the camera in the next version. 4G Network Reception The watch runs on 4G, which is great for staying connected. However, the network signal drops quite easily when I’m inside big concrete buildings or basement areas. The company definitely needs to work on network enhancements so the signal stays strong everywhere. Step Counter Accuracy I love checking the pedometer to see how many steps I’ve walked during recess. The step tracker works well overall, but the accuracy isn't quite as expected. Sometimes when I’m just waving my arms around while talking or playing board games, it counts those movements as actual steps! It’s funny, but not totally accurate. Sekyo Carepal Pro 4G Review: Final Verdict Overall, I give the Sekyo Turbo Smartwatch a 4 out of 5 stars! Even with the blurry camera and shaky step count, it's a super cool gadget for kids my age. It gives me the freedom to call my family, play games, and swim without worrying, while my parents stay happy knowing I'm safe. If you're 10 like me, you'll definitely enjoy having one on your wrist!

Scientists claim the shrinking Pacific Ocean will lead to the formation of a new supercontinent 'Amasia'

The Pacific Ocean, which is the largest ocean on Earth, is gradually shrinking due to the convergence of tectonic plates. Subduction zones around its edges are consuming the ocean floor at a rate faster than new material is formed. Scientists estimate that in 200 to 300 million years, the Pacific could entirely close up, pulling continents together to create a new supercontinent.

Kangana hits back at critics digging up old videos

Kangana Ranaut hit back at critics reviving her old party videos, defending her right to change beliefs. She said she wants to "convert" into a Sanghi and embrace BJP-RSS ideology as an "awakened Hindu," refusing to defend her past. She argued Hindu women deserve the same freedom to change without judgment.

What Is Put Call Ratio? How Traders Use PCR To Read Market Sentiment

The Put Call Ratio is one of the most followed indicators in the derivatives market. It compares activity in put options with activity in call options and helps traders judge whether positioning appears defensive, bullish or excessively one sided. However, the Put Call Ratio should not be treated as a direct buy or sell signal. Its meaning depends on whether it is calculated from open interest or volume, which expiry is studied and how the ratio changes with the underlying index. What Is the Put Call Ratio? The Put Call Ratio, commonly called PCR, measures put option activity relative to call option activity. The open interest formula is: Put Call Ratio = Total Put Open Interest divided by Total Call Open Interest A volume based version is: Volume PCR = Total Put Volume divided by Total Call Volume NSE’s option chain displays call and put data including volume, open interest, strike price and implied volatility. Open interest represents outstanding contracts, while volume measures contracts traded during the session. If put open interest is 12 lakh contracts and call open interest is 10 lakh, the PCR is 1.20. If put open interest is 7 lakh and call open interest is 10 lakh, it is 0.70. How to Interpret PCR A PCR above 1 means put open interest exceeds call open interest. A PCR below 1 means call open interest is higher. More puts may appear bearish because investors buy them for protection or downside speculation. More calls may appear bullish because traders buy calls when expecting a rise. The interpretation is not that simple because every option has a buyer and seller. Rising put open interest may come from put buyers expecting a fall or put writers expecting support. Call open interest may represent bullish buying or bearish writing. PCR is therefore better viewed as a sentiment and positioning measure than a precise forecast. Open Interest PCR Versus Volume PCR Open interest PCR reflects positions that remain outstanding and can help show how traders are positioned for an expiry. Volume PCR reflects current trading activity. It can change quickly during the session as participants react to news, prices or volatility. Suppose open interest PCR remains near 1.00, but volume PCR rises to 1.50 during a market decline. This shows stronger put trading during the day, but it does not reveal whether traders are mainly buying or writing puts. For positional analysis, open interest PCR may be more useful. Volume PCR can provide additional Intraday context. Also Read : India Manufacturing PMI Slips To 53.5 In July, But Export Demand Keeps Factories Growing Is a High PCR Bullish or Bearish? A high PCR has 2 possible interpretations. It can appear bearish because put activity is greater. From a contrarian perspective, an extreme high may become potentially bullish if positioning has grown excessively negative. A very low PCR can indicate strong optimism or heavy call positioning. An extreme low may warn that bullish expectations have become crowded. There is no universal high or low level. An index may normally trade in a different PCR range from an individual stock. The relevant expiry, historical range and market conditions matter. Reading PCR With Price The direction of PCR can be more useful than one reading. If an index rises while PCR increases, put writing may be building below the market and creating perceived support. If the index falls while PCR rises sharply, participants may be purchasing protection or positioning for further weakness. If the index rises while PCR falls, call activity may be increasing faster. This could reflect call buying or call writing at higher strikes. Price, open interest changes and option premiums are needed to understand which activity is dominant. A useful review asks: Is the underlying rising or falling? Is open interest being added or unwound? Are premiums increasing or decreasing? Strike Wise and Expiry Wise Analysis Market wide PCR combines many strikes and offers a broad view, but it may hide important positioning. Heavy put open interest below the market may indicate a support zone, particularly when it comes from put writing. Heavy call open interest above the market may indicate resistance. These levels can shift quickly as positions are rolled or closed. Weekly PCR may reflect short term trading, while monthly PCR may provide a wider view. Combining expiries without understanding their composition can mislead investors. Limitations of PCR PCR does not identify whether options are bought or written. It also does not measure the premium paid, risk size or whether a position is hedged with futures or other options. Institutional strategies can increase both put and call open interest without expressing a simple directional view. Expiry related unwinding may also cause abrupt changes. NSE’s advanced options material identifies the Put Call Ratio as an indicator used to study market swings, but it should not be used alone. Also Read : Could Petrol And Diesel Prices Stay Stable? OPEC+'s Latest Decision Offers A Clue What is the Put Call Ratio? It is a comparison of put and call activity used to study market sentiment and derivatives positioning. Investors should compare the current PCR with its historical range and combine it with price trend, volatility, premiums, support and resistance, and strike wise open interest. Extreme readings can provide useful context, but they are not automatic reversal signals.   (“Disclaimer: This article uses information originally published by Dalal Street Investment Journal (DSIJ). 5 Mutual Fund Mistakes That Could Hurt Your Long-Term Wealth And How To Avoid Them

India's Mutual Fund industry continues to witness strong participation from retail investors. As of June 2026, the industry's assets under management (AUM) stood at Rs 82.22 lakh crore, while the total number of folios reached 27.86 crore. However, despite rising participation, investor discipline has weakened. The SIP account discontinuation ratio crossed 100 per cent in March and April 2026, indicating that more SIP accounts were discontinued than newly registered. This trend highlights that while money continues to flow into mutual funds, many investors are struggling to stay invested for the long term. One of the most common mistakes is investing without a clear financial goal or investment horizon. Many investors begin a SIP without defining whether the investment is meant for retirement, buying a home, funding education or any other objective. As a result, they often redeem investments whenever another opportunity appears attractive. Although contributing SIP accounts stood at 9.78 crore in June 2026, rising account churn suggests many investors lack a long-term plan. Also Read : Could Petrol And Diesel Prices Stay Stable? OPEC+'s Latest Decision Offers A Clue Assigning every investment a specific goal and a time horizon of three, seven or 15 years helps measure progress and improves investment discipline. Another frequent mistake is chasing funds that delivered the highest returns in the previous year. Mutual fund leadership changes regularly, and categories that outperform in one phase may underperform in the next. During March 2026, flexi-cap funds received net inflows of Rs 10,054 crore for the eighth consecutive month, while Small-Cap and Mid-Cap schemes attracted Rs 6,264 crore and Rs 6,064 crore, respectively. These changing investment patterns show that investor preferences often follow recent performance. Instead of selecting funds based on short-term returns, investors should focus on long-term consistency and fund quality. Many investors also react emotionally to market volatility by redeeming investments after every market correction. While equity mutual funds have recorded 64 consecutive months of net inflows, reflecting patience among the broader investor base, individual investors frequently exit during temporary market declines of 5-7 per cent. Such behaviour disrupts the power of long-term compounding and may also result in Tax liabilities and exit-load charges. Remaining invested through short-term volatility, unless financial goals change, generally leads to better long-term outcomes. Another mistake is concentrating investments in a single sector or asset class instead of maintaining diversification. Equity schemes account for nearly two-thirds of the industry's total folios, while thematic and sectoral funds often attract maximum inflows after a strong rally, precisely when concentration risk increases. A portfolio heavily invested in one sector can experience significantly higher volatility. Diversifying investments across equity, debt and hybrid mutual funds helps reduce portfolio risk while improving long-term stability. Many investors also ignore periodic portfolio reviews. SIP investment holdings reached Rs 17.70 lakh crore in June 2026, accounting for 21.5 per cent of the total mutual fund industry's AUM. Also Read : India Manufacturing PMI Slips To 53.5 In July, But Export Demand Keeps Factories Growing Although this share has remained largely unchanged during the year, portfolios can gradually drift away from their original asset allocation as markets move and investments grow. Reviewing and rebalancing a portfolio once every year helps ensure investments remain aligned with financial goals without encouraging unnecessary trading. Most mutual fund investing mistakes have little to do with selecting the wrong scheme. Instead, they arise from investing without a clear objective, chasing recent winners, reacting to short-term market movements, concentrating investments in a single area and neglecting regular portfolio reviews. With SIP assets reaching Rs 17.70 lakh crore and total folios crossing 27.86 crore, investor participation in India's mutual fund industry remains strong. The bigger challenge is maintaining discipline and staying invested long enough to benefit from long-term compounding.  (“Disclaimer: This article uses information originally published by Dalal Street Investment Journal (DSIJ). Volkswagen Golf GTI, Audi RSQ8, MG Cyberster Win Top Performance Honours At ABP Live Auto Awards 2026

There are no dearth of performance cars for the Indian auto enthusiast but only a few stand out. At the ABP Live Auto Awards, there were three such cars that walked away with the performance car laurels. The sudden influx of performance cars is seen with the changing Indian car buyer and a taste for luxury mixed with performance. This trend has meant that carmakers are now bringing in more niche cars from their portfolio while also selling them quicker than anticipated. Golf GTI Takes Top Honours The Golf GTI from Volkswagen is our Performance Car of the Year and it impressed all of our judges including me with its keen handling and sharp focus. The Golf GTI has sold out but we will get another set of cars this year too. Audi RSQ8 Sets the SUV Benchmark The big Audi RSQ8 also wowed us all with its thunderous performance but also being laced with a crisp handling balance which is shocking for a vehicle of this size. The RSQ8 is our Performance SUV being the new benchmark in this class. Cyberster Leads the EV Performance Charge Lastly we did not forget EVs but within the performance spectrum they are even more desirable than ever with scintillating performance yet without the cost involved in terms of being an EV. The rakish Cyberster impressed judges including me for its performance, value and how it translates EV performance into a genuine sports car experience. Going forward it seems the Indian auto enthusiast is in for an interesting time ahead with more such cars coming in and expanding the performance car genre while growing from being just a niche to a substantial part of the luxury segment. Congratulations to all of the winners!

Pakistan Blast: Suicide Attack Outside Swat Police Station Kills 15, Probe Underway

A deadly suicide bombing rocked Pakistan's Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province after an attacker detonated explosives outside a police station in Swat district, killing at least 15 people and injuring several others. Among those killed were six police personnel, while multiple civilians were also reported among the victims. According to preliminary accounts, the explosion occurred near the main gate of the police station as a protest against the Pakistani military was taking place a short distance away. The powerful blast triggered panic, sending people running for safety as thick smoke engulfed the area. Security officials stated that the suspected suicide bomber attempted to approach the police lines but was intercepted by personnel before detonating the explosive device. The force of the explosion caused significant casualties and left many injured, with several victims reported to be in critical condition and shifted to nearby hospitals for treatment. Following the attack, security forces immediately sealed off the area and launched a large-scale search operation. Bomb disposal and forensic teams were deployed to collect evidence and determine the exact sequence of events. Investigators are treating the incident as a planned suicide attack while examining possible links to militant groups operating in the region. Authorities have heightened security across sensitive locations in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa as investigations continue. The attack highlights the persistent security challenges facing Pakistan's northwestern region, which has witnessed repeated militant violence in recent years. Officials are expected to release further details after the completion of the preliminary investigation and identification of those responsible for the bombing.

PoK Protest: Poll Boycott, Firing Claims and Unrest Intensify Amid Election Tensions in PoK

Political tensions escalated in Pakistan-administered Kashmir (PoK) as protests against the electoral process continued, with reports of clashes, firing, and widespread demonstrations in several areas. According to claims made during the protests, security forces opened fire on demonstrators late at night, while protest leaders alleged that multiple casualties had occurred over the past week. These claims have not been independently verified. The unrest follows calls by the Joint Awami Action Committee to boycott the elections, with protesters describing the polling process as lacking public support. Demonstrators gathered in Muzaffarabad and other locations, demanding greater political rights and rejecting what they termed a "sham election." Videos circulating from the region purportedly show the sound of gunfire, smoke rising from affected areas, blocked roads, and large crowds participating in demonstrations. Authorities reportedly postponed polling in two constituencies of Muzaffarabad after election teams were unable to safely reach polling stations because of road blockades, protests, and security concerns. Protesters celebrated the postponement, calling it a victory for their campaign against the election process. The situation has remained tense as security personnel deployed in large numbers attempted to disperse crowds using force, including tear gas, according to accounts from protest participants. Pakistan's authorities have maintained heightened security across the region as the election process continues in other constituencies. The developments have drawn attention to the ongoing political unrest in Pakistan-administered Kashmir, where demands for political representation and civil rights have intensified alongside the disputed electoral process. The full extent of casualties, injuries, and damage remains subject to official confirmation as the situation continues to evolve.

Scientists survey Mount Ararat glacier to recover its first ice core

A German-Turkish research team has completed the first scientific survey of the glacier on Mount Ararat, Turkey's highest peak, to study its potential as a record of climate and human history. Scientists mapped the shrinking ice cap to identify the best site for drilling the mountain's first ice core, hoping it will reveal thousands of years of environmental and archaeological information before melting erases it.
