    Tesla Starts Online Orders Across India, Prioritises Deliveries In Four Cities; Check Details

    Tesla has officially launched online orders for its vehicles in India, marking a major milestone in its entry into India’s fastest-growing electric vehicle (EV) market. In a post shared on X (formerly Twitter), Tesla India announced that customers across nearly all Indian states and Union Territories can now place orders directly through its official website. The post was later reshared by Tesla CEO Elon Musk, further confirming the move.

    Pan-India Availability With City-Based Delivery Rollout

    As per the announcement, Tesla vehicles will now be accessible to residents in a wide range of regions, including Maharashtra, Delhi, Karnataka, Telangana, Tamil Nadu, Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh, and West Bengal, among many others. The rollout covers both metropolitan hubs and smaller states like Sikkim, Manipur, and Mizoram.

    However, Tesla has stated that initial deliveries will be prioritised for customers registering vehicles in four major cities: Mumbai, Pune, Delhi, and Gurugram. These cities will be among the first to see Tesla cars on the road, as part of the company's phased delivery strategy.

    Model Y Unveiled For India With Premium Price Tag

    Tesla has introduced its premium electric SUV, the Model Y, as the first offering for the Indian market. The base rear-wheel drive version is priced at Rs 59.89 lakh, while the on-road price starts at Rs 61 lakh. For customers seeking more range, the long-range rear-wheel drive variant is available starting at Rs 67.89 lakh.

    The Model Y combines Tesla’s clean energy technology with the practicality of an SUV, positioning itself as a premium vehicle aimed at affluent urban buyers.

    First Tesla Showroom Debuts In Mumbai’s BKC

    To complement its digital sales model, Tesla has opened its first physical showroom—called a “Tesla Experience Centre”—at Maker Maxity Mall in Mumbai’s Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC), one of the city's prime commercial zones.

    Designed with a sleek, minimalist aesthetic in line with Tesla’s global branding, the showroom blends modernity with local elements. The walls showcase Tesla’s innovations, alongside imagery inspired by Indian art and culture.
