Retail inflation goes past 4%, first time in 17 months

Retail inflation rose to 4.4% in June, crossing the 4% mark. Food prices accelerated, and fuel price hikes contributed to this increase. Restaurants and accommodation services saw inflation rise to 6.9 percent. Personal transportation costs also increased significantly after recent fuel price adjustments. This marks the first time inflation surpassed 4% in the new CPI series.
