Mitsubishi Destinator Is A 7 Seater SUV At 5 Seater Compact SUV Prices

Mitsubishi is back in the game with its new Destinator SUV which is a 7 seater with a turbocharged petrol engine. Unveiled in Indonesia, the Destinator looks aggressive and has the new look design language which will echo in the other future Mitsubishi cars. The Destinator looks aggressive and is a 7 seater which begins at Rs 20 lakh and that's top-end 5 seater SUV prices.

In terms of the dimensions, the Destinator measures 4,680 mm in length, 1,840 mm in width, 1,780 mm in height while having a wheelbase of 2,815 mm. It even has a high ground clearance of 214 mm while the 18 inch alloy wheels give it a nice stance. The interior has features like dual zone climate control and 64 colour ambient lighting amongst other features. Being a 7 seater SUV, the Destinator has ample space too. Mitsubishi has stopped selling cars in India and the Destinator could be an ideal SUV to kickstart operations in India.

The Destinator is the right size, a petrol engine (no hybrid though) and an interior with the right features. Mitsubishi was once fairly successful with its Lancer and Pajero offerings but it could not keep up with the pace of the Indian market and its sales decreased slowly. Its last new car was the Outlander which failed to sell. The new Destinator on the other hand is a desirable SUV and with India being one of the biggest growing markets, Mitsubishi can do a comeback with this model taking on the likes of the Mahindra XUV700 and the Tata Safari in the 7 seater SUV segment.
