Jagannath Rath Yatra To Begin On June 27

This year, the Jagannath Rath Yatra will commence on June 27. Lord Balabhadra, Goddess Subhadra, and Lord Jagannath will travel to their aunt’s residence, the Gundicha Temple. They will return to the main temple on July 5, marking the conclusion of the 10-day-long spiritual journey.

Is There Any Sin In Leaving The Rath Yatra Midway?

As per religious beliefs, if someone is forced to leave the Rath Yatra midway due to an emergency or unavoidable circumstances, there is no sin or negative consequence attached to it. Lord Jagannath is known to accept devotion that comes from the heart. If a devotee genuinely wishes to complete the yatra but is unable to do so due to a pressing situation, the Lord understands their circumstances.

Can Lord Jagannath's Idol Be Kept At Home?

Yes, one can keep Lord Jagannath's idol at home, but certain guidelines should be followed. The idol should be placed in a central or prominent location, not tucked away in a corner. Ideally, it should be placed in a dedicated worship area or prayer room.

For home worship, the idol should be adorned with flowers and smeared with sandalwood paste. Offer flowers (pushpanjali) with devotion and avoid touching the idol with unclean hands.
